Guangzhou Nightscape Project
In 2019, Guangzhou implemented a landscape lighting enhancement project for its core river section. This major undertaking spanned the central reaches of the Pearl River from Baitan to the Dongpu Grand Bridge, encompassing over 40 kilometers of shoreline, more than 700 buildings, 10 bridges, and multiple urban plazas. Approximately 600,000 landscape luminaires were installed, aiming for a comprehensive transformation of Guangzhou's nocturnal cityscape.
The project presented several challenges. The lighting system needed to operate without faults during the National Day period.
